The logo signifies that there is so much you can discover in this world and that this website is to inform everyone about everything,right from the molecular level to the celestial bodies. An idea arising out of a person's thought forms 'DISCCOMM' and he starts speaking out and communicating it to everyone.The Disc shape is to show its relevance to computer content. |
The information is too less and partially covers the above concept as of now. It is only a matter of time before it takes off on its full course and meets the above goal of mine. |
| Purpose/Intent: | The idea is to have an information store that you can get to, to deal with our regular life. The more we keep sharing our knowledge we keep learning new things. By the time you know everything that I know of, I would have acquired new knowledge in my quest for better things.Being content with what we know, makes us lazy and so I am trying to place everything that I experienced/came across for the use of everyone. Lets help ourselves and make our lives simpler, sharing whatever we know about the most common things, things that are a trouble when you don't know what to do or how to do.
Let me give you an example. You went online to a Jewelry store to buy a ring. There are so many beautiful rings but which size do you buy? What is your ring size? How do you find it out? If you are travelling to Europe/Asia from the US, will the size remain the same? If you have faced this and went to a local store to find your size, post it here saying how you went about it. And if you didn't, then ask me. Let me search and find out how to go about it. Let me learn how to deal with those new things. I will find out the solutions, will learn something new and place it here.The purpose of this website is as simple as that. We always have the questions, How do I do this? Why doesn't it work? What should I do? . This place should give you tips,links,directions and point you where to look. If you like it, keep checking the website. It is definitely going to expand. |
| What's Unique/What's different? | Yep. This is THE question I always get asked. All the information is available on the web. What's special here that you cannot find using a Google/MSN search? Of course there is. The information here is the one after enough research and is something that worked for me. Moreover all of it is at one place...a collection of resolutions for issues we have regularly. You need not search for the same thing I have searched for, if both our needs are the same. Instead, look at my results and then decide to search if you don't find your answer within my results. Say, you wanted to find the best cell phone in the market. You first check the price, decide the cool factor and then jump onto a 'price comparison' site. After that you get on to a few 'review' sites, look at the product reviews and then decide to buy or not. That's exactly what I do. So, if both of us are looking for the cell phone, one of us do not need to go through the same process, if we trust each other and our needs are similar.So, here you will have a list of the websites which helped me in the past, so that you exactly know where to go. Choose the ones you prefer. And, our habit as induced by Microsoft is that, as soon as you find a good link, you add it or let me say, you dump it in your Favorites/Bookmarks - to never come back because the next time you want to go there, you trust your 'Search' and not your bookmarks. This place is all you would need, both to come up in your search or to have those favorites in your list in the most accessible place. |
