Books/Documents might be the ones that all of us are after, in our day to day activities. They are everywhere to be found and we never get enough of buying them. I am not sure if Internet reduced any paper as most of the time matter on the internet makes its way to the printer. So, logically we are wasting more paper by having a particular piece of information on the web as it is now made available to millions of people who can print it. I have seen numerous people, however tech-savvy they are, tend to store important documents 'in paper'. Say, for example, your Credit card Statement. Terms and Conditions on the back of your statement can change behind the scenes without you ever knowing it and so it is always better to have your statement in paper. Information stored on digital media tends to be volatile and of course holding matter in your hands makes you feel that you are in control. So, Books enjoy that special place they have gained after so many centuries. I tend to read reviews, excerpts and some times whole (e)books on my PC. But, if a book is good and needs to be owned, it has to be. And when you need to, you should know where to find them. So, here are a few links to find all books (free and paid) both in-store and online. You can find Book reviews at www.bizbooktalk.com , in case you need to find out how a book is before deciding to buy it. Wowio.com - is a collection of free 'legitimately' copyrighted books. This website allows you to read a lot of books online for free and also gives a free download every month.
While searching for resources on finding various books, I also came across a few place where you can get textbooks for cheap and thought it would benefit a lot of people. And here they are.
Document and Book Sharing And when we are talking about Books, eBooks and finding them online, it is the right place to talk about online document or file sharing options. More often than not, you are going to find books for free here more than anywhere else...that's the power of social media now-a-days. Even the latest Harry Potter creeped into one of these sites on the first day it was released. So, lets see the various websites you can look at when you are searching for a book, novel, excerpt, articles, magazines or anything that is worth sharing. These are the links all of us can quickly hop on to, to find any book we are looking for. And, most of the links below will again feature on File Sharing services which is on the way but without there the Books section doesn't get what it needs. Want to write a book on your own? Try Blurb.com and you can publish your own book and materialize your dream.
And when you are here, I think this is the place where I can direct you to my collection of various websites for hinduism and spirituality. Checkout the Spirituality section. |
