Websites to find Indian Roommates: When you move to a new place in the US, it is sometimes tricky to find an Indian roommate online because the existing websites do not cover every place. The first issue is that it is difficult to find the website where the Indian community is very active. The problem aggravates when that new City is not on Sulekha/EkNazar (the most popular community websites for Indians). It gets tough and at times really frustrating too to search the internet just to find that one website. I was in exactly the same situation some time back, flipping through the google search results page after page, encountering numerous "Indian" websites, which were actually 'failed projects'. The websites exist but there is no activity and so there are no recent postings. Changing search parameters from Desi to Indian and Indian to Indian American etc and etc just leads to waste of time. After a while, you will come to know through someone or from your powerful search that almost all of the Indians there use a different website, as though they don't have any other place on the internet and you never even thought that it "existed" in the first place.
So, my effort here is to list the websites where you will most likely find a roommate at the new place you are moving to. You have the popular websites like Sulekha,Eknazar etc where can post your ad for most of the places but if you are moving to cities not on their list, try checking the list below.
