This topic, I think is something you would rarely visit, until, you have one of your relatives/friends flying down to your place. And yet, when you do visit, you would find this more useful than the whole travel dealsites list. Nothing is more frustrating than to head out to the airport to pick up the arriving person, only to find out that the flight is delayed by 2 hours or more. Sometimes, going back home isn't an option. So, wouldn't it be nice to know the inevitable while you are at home?. Flight Delays/Status: Here is the list of official flight status checking options. You can always look up the airlines website for the status, but I found the FAA one is much quicker to update the status than the specific airline. Always check the FAA website www.fly.faa.gov for accurate information. Real time flight trackers: There are quite a few places to check the flight's status as seen above. You can also 'track' the incoming flight, that's currently in the air, to know a flight's exact current status. For those of you, who have never come across this 'Real time flight tracking' option: this would be quite fun looking at the maps and the moving flight, the first time. You might find one of these with the first 'search engine' result, but this gives you the list, you can go for, as you don't have much time to look at all the results :-). Each of these websites have their own way of presenting the information. You can look them up and settle for one and use only that, for the next time. The order of preference is always in the 'Z' order. If you are in a hurry, just pick the first link. So, here you go:
All the above sites show you the path of the aircraft and the movement, if the flight is enroute. If it is delayed and never took off, these aren't of great use and you will have to go for the earlier listed websites for the status.
